Bob Nutting came to talk to Sport Management majors last week. My buddy went and said there was a lot of snickers about him. I would have loved to hear him, not necessarily to bash him in anyway just to hear what he has to say. He is a WVU alum and large contributor to the university. This trade only further proves the supreme idiocy of the Pirates' front office. WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THEY THINKING? Chavez has way too much potential to be dealt for for an older (injury prone) infielder who they won't be able to keep. The Pirates say they're building for the future but the future never comes... then they cap it off with this type of out-of-left-field idiocy. Wow you guys break it down great. NOT!!!!!!!!!
How about the fact that Nate has played the major part of this year with a hamstring injury. (check stats both with Pirates and Braves). As far as centerfield goes. 1 error the entire year. only 1 last year and that was last week of season. McCutheon does have talent I agree but you seem to want to put him in the hall already. As far as the trade goes, it is a good trade for Pirates, both players are starting centerfielders and you only need one. But if other teams had thought that McCutceon was better you can believe he would not be a Pirate now.

“All the fans outside of Pittsburgh haven’t been watching the team for the last decade and a half and don’t understand what’s going on.” – That’s a bold statement considering you don’t know me from a hole in the wall lol, but I’m not taking offense to it because I clearly stated that FORBES made these accusations. I didn’t sit around and create a story about the ownership being “corrupt,” – FORBES simply pointed out that the Pirates aren’t investing nearly as much as they’re making. If that happens to be a fact, then there’s nothing you or I can do about it. I never said that I thought the prospects we received were ‘god awful,’ – and I specifically said that “I’m not suggesting that every trade we witnessed this year was a hoax…” – I said that the fans of Pittsburgh are being short changed, (and if the organization isn’t even spending enough to breach the percentage a team is mandated to spend,) then short-changed is a pretty appropriate term for the situation. “All of this “factual” information about the Pirates not revealing where the funs are going is interesting I guess, but I don’t think you can actually take that so seriously.” Look. You can spend money on tickets, watch a last-place finish and not take it serious if you want… but I don’t think they’d be calling the operations a “sham” and suggesting that Bud Selig get involved if there wasn’t something to find. “What could those guys possibly be using that money for?” – Money is money lol. What does anybody with money use money for? “And it’s not like the Pirates have even had the chance to give anybody money that will help them in the future.” – As Forbes pointed out, if they’re banking $16,000,000 a year in unspecified profit – take your pick lol. That’s $16,000,000 that could of went to anybody your heart desired… That’s a “chance” right there to scoop just about anybody if it’s true. I personally believe it is… I’m not buying every single thing they suggested, but the fact that they’re not using all of their profit for their team is enough reason to discuss the issue…
